Happy Release Day!

What a great day! My book is finally out!!! I'm unsure what to say actually, because it's all a little overwhelming.

And kind of...not.

I had to work today, and I am soooo not a shopper, so, Bad Me, I didn't even venture out on release day to see where I could find VENUS ENVY.

But I have an awesome "street team" of friends and family (who obviously are braver than I if they'd go out in that nightmare of traffic and rabid shoppers!) on the lookout for me! It was first spotted by Julie at Borders near Seattle. Then my mom found it at Barnes and Noble about a half hour away from us. I went out and signed the copies they had there on Christmas Eve. See the picture on the right? That's what it looked like, signed, with "autographed by author" sticker. And, it was already face-out on the shelf. I didn't even have to do that myself! :-)

Since then, I've received my copy in the mail from Amazon, as has Erin. So, if you pre-ordered, I bet you'll get it soon. Carol Snow, one of my MySpace friends, let me know that she saw it in her So. Cal. Target, in the Bookmarked Breakout Section! Whoohoo! Carol's book was there, too, called GETTING WARMER, which looks awesome! I'm going to pick that up at Target tomorrow, too, if our local store has it.

Even my mother-in-law has gotten in on the search. She called from Kalispell, Montana, this morning to tell me that she'd called her local Waldenbooks...only to be told that they HAD had it, but it had sold out really fast! Hot Damn!! I'm so excited!

And so happy that you all want to read VENUS. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Well, as you know, I keep promising a great prize. And I have a great prize. BUT, I want to do it right. I want to give it away in the best way possible. And I want to be able to give books away with it, and I don't have my author copies yet. As soon as I get them, I'll run the contest. Maybe we'll call it a New Years contest. It'll be worth the wait, I promise. Because the prize is beautiful. Looks smashing Venus, and it will look smashing on YOU!
